Elaine M. Knox

Elaine M. Knox, age 93, of Battle Creek peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, May 14, 2018. She was born in Battle Creek on April 29, 1925 the daughter of Floyd and Hattie (VanAsperen) Niles and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School.

Elaine married the "Love of Her Life", Wilber "Bill" Knox in Battle Creek on March 3, 1943; he sadly preceded her in death on May 30, 1995. She is survived by her daughter, Eileen K. Hoffman of Battle Creek; two grandchildren, Nikki (Oz) Rinckey and Chris Hoffman; four great-grandchildren, Aiden Hoffman, Miles Rinckey, Caleb Hoffman, and Charlie Rinckey. Elaine was also preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jared Hoffman.

Elaine was a member of the Maple United Methodist Church for more than 50 years where she had also served as the church bookkeeper. She was also a member of the Marywood Country Club, the 4-H extension group, and volunteered with the Salvation Army. Elaine enjoyed bowling, golfing, square dancing, cooking, collecting angels, and she truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate Elaine's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 18th in the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery.
