Elaine E. Van Syckle

Elaine E. Van Syckle, age 84, of Battle Creek passed away Monday morning, June 12, 2017. She was born in Walton Township, Michigan on October 21, 1932, the loving daughter of Wayne F. and Bonnie B. (Berkimer) Knoll and graduated from Lakeview High School.

Elaine married Donald Duane Van Syckle in Battle Creek on May 11, 1951; he sadly preceded her in death on July 7, 1999. She is survived by her children, Connie (Gary) Ellis of Allegan, Dan (Linda) Van Syckle of Battle Creek, and Don (Julie) Van Syckle of New Berlin, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren, Heather, Trevor, Brian, Danny, Emily, Matt, and Lacey; 4 great-grandchildren, Cailynn, Ellie, Viktorea, Charlie, and two sisters, Katherine Craven and Lois Vale, both of Battle Creek.

Elaine and Duane enjoyed spending time at Sandy Pines and travels out West in their mobile home. Elaine has lived at Lakeview Senior Living for the past three years. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles, watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions & Pistons, and truly loved spending time with her family.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017.
