Emilio Macedo, 20, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at University of Michigan Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1996, Battle Creek, the son of Tammy A. Edwards and Benigno Macedo and he attended Pennfield High School. Emilio had Muscular Dystrophy, but never let it bother him or get in his way if possible.
He is survived by his mother and father; brothers, Christopher, Luis, Benny Jr.; sisters, Zatarah, Tacarah, Julyssa; longtime girlfriend Amber Summerhill; grandmother, Floriberta Arroyo; aunts and uncles, Laurie (Keith) Harley, Stacy Avant, Jackie Lake, UValdo (Lindsey) Macedo, Jesus (Shanna) Macedo, Marlen (Hector) Sandaral; a special cousin Josh "Nephew" Edwards, and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathryn Edwards; grandfather, Harold Green; special aunt Karen Edwards-Spinney; uncle, Terry Lake and cousin Kyle Edwards.
Emilio loved going to the football games, especially watching Michigan State and the Detroit Lions play, playing video games, spending a lot of time with his girlfriend and his family.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate Emilio's life at 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave. N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017, with Pastor Timothy P. Smothers of Battle Creek Seventh Day Baptist Church officiating. A visitation is planned one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
