Eric Joseph Cornell, 56, died Monday, November 14th, 2016 in his hometown of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Eric was born in Battle Creek in 1960 to the late Joe and Ann Cornell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Cornell. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1979, where he was a standout wrestler winning a city championship.
He was employed by Regional Medical Laboratories, Inc., Upjohn, Pharmacia, and Pfizer as a Histotechnologist until his illness. He took great pride in his work.
His hobbies included playing and coaching softball, music, golfing with friends, music, spending time on Graham Lake, music, playing guitar, music, and watching his beloved Detroit Lions (sigh).
He especially loved his two boys, and was so proud of their accomplishments. He had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. He will be forever missed by his friends and family.
Eric is survived by his two sons, Alex and Nate Cornell, sister Ellen (Russ) Bunn, best friend Tina Cornell, special friend Jackie Simmons, and many other family members and friends who will miss his fun-loving personality.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Douglas Fleury on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
