Eric V. Crippen

Eric V. Crippen, age 47, of Battle Creek sadly passed away on Tuesday afternoon, February 6, 2018 at the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland, MI after a lengthy battle with Cancer. Eric was born in Battle Creek on October 12, 1970, the loving son of Robert L. and Shirley K. (Hicks)Crippen. As a young man, Eric enjoyed bowling and playing baseball. An avid Detroit Lions fan, he also enjoyed watching all types of sports, and reading his Bible and The Daily Bread.

Eric is survived by his mother, Shirley Lyon; his sister, Rhonda Clark; three nephews, Travis (Leah) Sleight, John T. (Starr) Sleight, Josh Sleight; and six great-nieces & nephews, with one on the way. He was sadly preceded in death by his father, Robert L. "Bob" Crippen on December 26, 1997.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering service to celebrate Eric's life will be held on Saturday, April 7th at the Hickory Corners American Legion Post #484, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
