Erma White

Erma, the daughter of T.R. and Catherine (Applegate) Powell, was born on August 4, 1925 in Hitchins, KY and moved to Battle Creek in 1977. She had attended the Dexter Lake Church of God in Battle Creek. Erma thoroughly enjoyed antiquing with her husband, Lyle and after both retired, it became a full-time hobby of buying and selling. Family was her passion in life along with singing gospel hymns for her family and friends.

In 1943, Erma was united in marriage to Willard Clifton Webb in Kentucky and he preceded her in death in December of 1976. Erma then married Lyle W. White on January 13, 1983 in Battle Creek and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2007. Surviving is her daughter, Carolyn Sue
(Richard) Orns of Battle Creek; her two sons, Gerald Clifton (Sharian) Webb
of Daytona Beach, FL and Gordon Ricky "Rick" (Barbara) Webb of Bellevue, MI; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Thelma Perry and two brothers, G.W. and William Powell.

At the request of Erma's family, friends will be received on Thursday, January 31^st from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek. The Funeral Service to celebrate Erma's life will be held on Friday, February 1^st at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. C.L. Pancoast of Flint, MI, officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek. Memorial contributions in Erma's honor may be made to The Haven Women's Life Recovery Program, 652 Capital Avenue, NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017.
