Evelyn Louise (Rigsby) (Keith) Bean of Kalamazoo, MI
Evelyn, age 90, who loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart is now dancing before him in Heaven as of Monday, March 11, 2019. While those she left are grieving her loss, they celebrate her lifetime love of singing before her Lord.
Her journey included marriage, raising 5 children and the pursuit of diverse opportunities including a radio broadcaster, beautician, licensed realtor, and owning a health food store. Evelyn was a bright, well-read woman in order to be her best at each opportunity. She had a generous heart, passion for prayer, love for people and dedication to her family.
Evelyn, the daughter of Albert and Violet (Blackmon) Rigsby, was born in Butler, AL and moved to this area upon marriage on May 19,1946.
Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Tabler of Walton, IN and Janice (James) Carl of Kalamazoo; her son, Freemont Bean of Kalamazoo; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Alan Keith and Mark Keith; two sisters, Elizabeth, Mildred and a brother, Ken.
The Graveside Service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held on Monday, March 18th at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Gull Road, Kalamazoo followed by a friends and family gathering from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at North 11 restaurant located at 5585 Gull Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49048. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Evelyn's honor may be directed to the Lyme Light Foundation 1229 Burlingame Ave., Suite 205 Burlingame, CA 94010 (650) 348-5509, https://lymelightfoundation.org/ The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Evelyn's family.
