Evelyn Marie Ruble

Evelyn Marie Ruble, 93, of Battle Creek, MI peacefully passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Pennfield Premier Living in Battle Creek, MI.
She was born July 30, 1923 in Milford, Iowa to Everett Boyd and Florence Opal (Ferguson) Neil. Evelyn grew up in Iowa, attended school and then attended a business college for a secretarial degree.

Evelyn married Manley Eugene Ruble on October 2, 1954 in Evanston, IL. They came to Battle Creek in 1967. Sadly, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Manley on January 11, 2003 and her son, Delbert, on her birthday in 2008. Surviving are a daughter, Sylvia Marie Ruble; a sister, Lillian Sand of Menominee, WI; and a daughter-in-law, Letry Ruble of Oklahoma City, OK.

Evelyn enjoyed traveling, gardening, collecting cookie jars, teapots, bone china and glassware. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, accordion and dulcimer. Evelyn began serving God in 1936. Her life demonstrated a complete submission to His will. Evelyn will be remembered for her Christ-like spirit. She loved everyone. Her care-givers in her final months meant so much to her and she formed bonds that will last forever.

Friends will be received on Thursday, Nov 3 from 6-8pm at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov 4, 2016 at 10:30am. Committal and interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
