Faith H. Sellers

Faith Sellers, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called to her Heavenly home on Friday, March 1, 2019. Born in 1928 to parents Crawford and Hilfried (Gunderson) Sarasin, Faith grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from Berkley High School.
Faith attended Western Michigan University where she received a Bachelor and Master degree in education. Before her retirement, she was a long time teacher at Riverside Elementary school in the Lakeview School District where she positively impacted the lives of many students.
Faith married the love of her life, R. Bruce Sellers on March 27, 1948. They moved to Springfield, MI in 1958. They were married for 69 years before his passing in 2017. They were long time residents in Springfield and of the Springfield Schools community. Faith and her husband were avid golfers and enjoyed time golfing at Marywood and Bedford Valley Country Clubs. They had the pleasure of spending time in Northern Michigan, Florida and traveling to various locations. Faith has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church for many years.
Faith is survived by her four children, Debra Greenwold, David Sellers, Bob (Diana) Sellers and Karen Reeves; her grandchildren, Mike (Alison) and Matthew (Andrea) Greenwold, Lisa (Luke) Smelser, Kacy (Jake) Lawrence, Spenser (Maris), Logan (Stephanie) Sellers and Tony (Chelsea) Reeves; 16 great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law Patricia and Lois. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Bruce; a sister and brother; and a granddaughter, Angela Reeves.
A celebration of Faith's life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Visitation will be Friday, March 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Faith's final Earthly resting place will be with her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Heritage Assisted Living or Great Lakes Hospice. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
