Florence E. (Grover) Gould of Richland, Michigan
Florence, age 82, died Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016 at Heartland of Kalamazoo, MI, following a prolonged illness.
Florence, the daughter of Leslie and Eva (Garn) Grover, was born in Scotts, MI on January 27, 1934. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1952, she was a lifetime area resident. She was a faithful secretary of Gull Lake Community Schools for 23 years, retiring in 1994. Florence was a member of New Hope Covenant Church of Richland since 1969. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and traveling during her retirement. Every creature in God's creation was welcomed and well fed in Florence's backyard. The most important time in her life was "family time," especially with her grandchildren.
Florence was united in marriage to Leon Bruce Gould of Kalamazoo on September 25, 1954. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2001. Surviving are her three children, Lisa K. (Steve) Marzolf of Shelbyville, MI, Scott R. (Sue) Gould of Holland, MI, and Brent M. (Kathy) Gould of Hickory Corners, MI; five precious grandchildren, Joshua Marzolf, Stephanie (Chris) Roof, Graham Gould, Lena Gregg, and Craig (Samantha) Gould; two great grandchildren, Josiah and Elyzabeth Gould; several cousins, including Dick (Freddie) Coppes of Vicksburg, MI.
The Funeral Service to celebrate Florence's life will be held on Monday, February 8th, at 11:30 a.m. at New Hope Covenant Church, 9300 East D Avenue (M89), with the Rev. Jan David DeWitt officiating. Florence's family will greet friends on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the Church. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Family and friends will return to the Church to continue Florence's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon. Memorial contributions in Florence's honor may be directed to New Hope Covenant Church. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Florence's family with her arrangements.
