Frances R. Thompson

Frances R. Thompson, 93, of Richland, died August 4, 2026. Fran was born May 15, 1933 in London, Ontario, Canada to Edmund and Jeanette (Breadner) Alexander. After she graduated high school she worked in a lab. During this time she met her future husband, John Thompson, whom she was married to for over 40 years. Later in life she went back to school to earn her Degree in Library Sciences and worked as the librarian for Edwardsburg, MI Public Schools for 15 years. Fran was a member of the First Congregational Church in Kalamazoo. Fran lived a life full of friends, dogs and community service.

Fran is survived by her three children, Loran (Curt) Stahler, Jocelyn (Joshua) Clark and John Thompson; five grandchildren, Brett Stahler (Korteney), Gary Stahler, Jordan Thompson (Carmyn), Maizie Clark and Davith Clark and 4 great-grandchildren, Kynley, Waylon, Nova and Navy. Fran is also survived by a niece, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters, Jocelyn, Nancy, Joan and Lorna Alexander and a brother, Edmund Alexander.
