Frank M. Allen, age 84, of Battle Creek passed away at home on Thursday evening, April 14, 2016. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 27, 1931, the son of Herbert & Maxine Allen. Frank served his country as a member of the United States Army and then went to work at Eaton Corporation, retiring in 1993 after more than 30 years of faithful service.
Frank married the "Love of His Life", Jacqueline A. "Jackie" Morgan in Georgia on March 21, 1951; she survives. He is also survived by his sons, Tim (Sandy) and Russell Allen, both of Battle Creek; 4 grandchildren, Chelsea, Jennifer and T.J. Allen, all of Battle Creek, and Ashley Lopez-Stoner of Washington D.C.; a great-grandson, Milo Finney; 2 sisters, Jean Quarles of Tennessee and Patricia (Don) Simmons of Florida; a brother, Charles Allen of Florida, and his beloved dog, "Hazard". Frank was sadly preceded in death his parents and 5 brothers & sisters.
A true family man, Frank loved spending time with his family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing the lawn, gardening, and metal detecting. He also enjoyed Civil War history, watching & reading Westerns, traveling the United States, and cruising in his 66' T-Bird.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 18th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where funeral services to celebrate Frank's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19th. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the ALS Association Michigan Chapter.
