Fred E. Kuver

Fred E. Kuver, age 86, of Battle Creek went to be with his Lord & Savior on Sunday evening, October 26, 2014 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on November 11, 1927, the loving son of Fred and Gertrude (Ross) Kuver. Fred served as an Insurance Agent for many years and retired as a Vice President with such companies as New York Life, Provident Mutual Life, California Western States Life, 20th Century Guardian Life and HBJ Insurance.

Fred married his loving wife of 42 years, Donnis M. Ellis in Battle Creek on October 27, 1972; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Fred H. (Michelle) Kuver of Florida, Nancy (Ronald) Bonanno of California and Beth (Randy) Foellmi of Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Todd Bonanno, Travis Bonanno, Tracy Jones, Kimberly Callaway, and Richard Frederick; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Andrew Jones, Nicholas Jones, Collin Frederick, Callie Frederick, Sullivan Bonanno, and a sister, Joan (Paul) Biegner.

Fred was a very giving person and gave so much to his community. He was an active member at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where he had served on the Stewardship Committee, Evangelism Committee and currently served as an Elder of the church. Fred was a past member of the Battle Creek Host Lions Club and the Emmett Township Board. Fred loved children and volunteered countless hours at Verona Elementary with Mrs. Moody's second grade classroom and with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Fred's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2014 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 349 Capital Ave. NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017.
