Fred James Peters

Fred J. Peters, 82, of Richland, died May 23, 2017.

Fred was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of John J. and Clara E. (Dykstra) Peters. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired after 20 years of service from National Water Lift.

Fred shared 60 years of marriage to his beloved wife Shirley. He loved hunting, camping, fishing and golfing.

Fred is survived by his wife, Shirley and their children, Jim (Tammie) Peters, John (Teri) Peters, Steve (Kellie) Peters, Sue (Tom) Forsberg, Julie (Dale Girke) Kilgore and Lori (W.J.) Stafford and 13 wonderful grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and four sisters.

Father Francis Marotti will officiate a memorial mass to celebrate Fred's life 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Ave., Augusta, MI 49012. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in honor of his granddaughter. Cremation has taken place per Fred's wishes.
