George Paul Flach, 97, of Augusta, Michigan passed away May 4, 2022.

Paul was the ninth of 12 children of Francis and Agnes (Fisher) Flach. He honorably served our country with the U.S. Navy during WWII in the European and Asiatic Pacific Theaters.

Paul was a carpenter and builder by trade. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and gardening. Paul was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.

Paul is survived by his stepson, Dennis (Marsha) Toennessen, stepdaughter, Darla (Don) Mann, stepson-in-law, Chriss Laing; eight grandchildren, Laurie Laing, Michael (Lynne) Toennessen, Christina (Brad) Danger, Jennifer (Chad) Vanderklok, Jason (Jennifer) Mann, Nathan (Emily) Mann, Ryan (Nicole) Toennessen, Joshua (Jamie) Toennessen, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Flach; second wife, Alice (Toennessen) Flach; stepdaughter, Debra Laing, eight sisters and three brothers.

Friends will be received 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19th at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta, MI 49012, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. David Pinto 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Military honors and inurnment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
