Georgia M. Hammons

Georgia M. Hammons, 92, of Battle Creek, died February 5, 2023 at home. Georgia was born November 22, 1930 in Battle Creek to Oscar and Elma (Earl) Holcomb. She was a 1948 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and went onto marry William Hammons September 2, 1950. She worked a few years at Bell Telephone Company before raising her family.

Georgia enjoyed golfing and reading. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Community Hospital and Bronson Battle Creek Hospital Gift Shops for over 3 decades.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Willliam, their three children, John (Sharon) Hammons, Peggy Seawater and Barbara (John) Mairs; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Gerry Fox. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Sigourney and a brother, David Holcomb.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 13th, 2023 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 14th.
