Gerald Michael "Mike" Slagle

Gerald Michael "Mike" Slagle, age 74, of Battle Creek and formerly of Saginaw passed away Monday evening, February 25, 2019. He was born in Grayling, Michigan on August 3, 1944, the son of Gerald H. and Evelyn M. (Gary) Slagle. Gerald faithfully served as a member of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1964. He loved to travel, mostly by motorcycle, and claims to have visited all but three states.

Gerald married Mary Ann Jamrog on November 9, 1964; that marriage ended in divorce. He then married Jeri Foster on June 13, 1983; she sadly preceded him in death. Gerald is survived by his children, Michael (Carolyn) Slagle and Sheila Slagle, both of Saginaw; a step-daughter, Nikki Tripple; five grandchildren, Ashley, Kelsey, Michael K., Leslie, and Sean; his loving companion for many years, Linda Gradwell of Battle Creek; a sister, Karen (Jerry) Castle; brother-in-law, Conrad Neilson; and several nieces & nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sandra Neilson.


The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 4th at the Bridgeport Community Church 3821 State St., Bridgeport, MI 48722 where a memorial service to celebrate Gerald's life will be held at 11:00 a.m..
