Geraldine "Gerry" Adcock

Geraldine "Gerry" Adcock, age 103, of Bedford Township passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 2, 2021. She was born in Bedford Township, MI in 1918 to Casper and Alice Uldriks. Being one of 9 children, Gerry had to help take care of her younger siblings and work on the farm while attending school. She attended Kirby School, Level Park School and Battle Creek Central. During her lifetime in Battle Creek she had several jobs including Kresge's Dime Store, Post Cereals, Kellogg's, U.S. Wire, Eaton Corp., Brookside IGA, and L.W. Robinsons.

After her husband, Arthur Olaf Adcock, passed away in 1980 she decided to move to Lakeland, FL and had 8 wonderful years making new friends and memories, and then returned to Battle Creek to be near her family. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing cards and board games, and embroidery. She loved to discuss politics and current events. Gerry was also very active in the community as part of the Bedford Republican Club, Eastern Star, Hookers (Crochet Club), a Red Cross Volunteer, and a Lioness.

Gerry was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilbur, Casper, Reynolds, Harmon, John, and Henry; a sister, Wilmeta; a niece; and four nephews. She is survived by her sister, Alice June Bauman who resides in FL; her children, Arthur & Gail of Stevensville, MI, Sherrie Ann Johnson of Dana Point, CA, Alice Karen Hill of Battle Creek and MaryJo & Brian Bundy of Battle Creek; her grandchildren Rusty & Phyllis, Art & Lisa, Tory & Sarah, Joe & Jennifer, Jamie & Matt, Tara & Brian, Jesse and Lindsay; and her great-grandchildren Britney, Brandy, Lucas, Dakota, Jayden, Addy and Darien West.

Many thanks to the Adcock, Bundy, Hill, Johnson, Uldriks families for all of their love and support as well as the wonderful staff at Reflections Memory Care which was Gerry's last residence.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 8th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Graveside services to celebrate Gerry's life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9th at the Bedford Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association and/or the American Cancer Society.
