Geryl Denise "Jewel" Warner

Geryl Denise "Jewel" Warner, age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 6, 2022. She was born in Battle Creek on January 20, 1954, the loving daughter of Charles R. and Lois H. (Burns) Roberts. Jewel graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and continued her education at Kellogg Community College. She assisted in the rehabilitation of veterans at her parents Adult foster care homes and also managed her parent's businesses. Jewel enjoyed fishing, walking by the lakes looking for stones & shells, camping, bird watching, and anything to do with nature. She loved painting, drawing, word searches, garage sales & thrifting, and music. Jewel was known and loved as "Nina" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she will always be the best "Nina" in their hearts…

Jewel is survived by her children, Angela (Scottie) McGuire, Thomas Carpentier, Jeremy Carpentier, and James Laxton; her grandchildren, Jaden (Alyssa) Carpentier, Lori Roberts, Tommy Carpentier, and Caleb Carpentier; great-grandchildren, Jaleigh Carpentier, Rynleigh Carpentier, and Neveah Carpentier; her sister, Pat Shellenberger; and many loving nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian Laxton; a granddaughter, Taylor Renee Carpentier; brothers, Richard Anthony and William Roberts; a sister, Vickie Sue Wright; and a brother-in-law, Keith Shellenberger.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 10th. The service will be Live-streamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/685870034. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
