Gilbert Magoon

Gilbert B. Magoon, 88, of Battle Creek, died Thursday, October 11, 2018. Gilbert was born September 30, 1930 in Mackinaw City, MI to Basil C. and Christine J. (St. Antonie) Magoon. He graduated High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Gilbert worked at the Federal Center as a system analyst before retiring in June of 2011.

Gilbert married Jaqueline Stefanski on January 15, 1993, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Elizabeth (Duane) Mann, Kathleen (Ron) MaComber, Daniel (Marcie) Magoon, R. Dale (Stacey) Magoon, David (Ruth) Magoon, Susan (Terry) Tannery and Christopher (Renee) Magoon.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Eugene and R. Dale and two sisters, Marlene and Sandra.

Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, with a Parish Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Gilbert's life will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 18 at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial donations may be made to St. Jerome Building Fund, the Antrim County Baby Pantry or the Haven of Rest.
