Gladys Holstrom

Gladys Holstrom, age 106, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020. She was born in Newfoundland on March 28, 1914, the second of eight children. She came to the United States at age seven and lived in many states before settling in Battle Creek in 1936 with her husband, Arthur. Gladys worked at Shane's Ladies Apparel for 25years until they closed. She then became a hospital volunteer for over 30 years. Gladys resided for over a decade at NorthPointe Woods where she gained the respect and friendship of the staff and fellow residents.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur John Holstrom; her son Roger (Cecily) Holstrom; and six brothers & sisters. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Phil) Winstead of Plano, TX; a son, Ronald (Sandra) Holstrom of Battle Creek; many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert.

Cremation has taken place and she will be interred in the Garth at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where she was a very active member . At Gladys' request, there will be no services.
