Glen Eldon Harris

Glen E. Harris, 92, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at Bickford Cottage, with his family at his side.

Glen was born September 4, 1929 in Battle Creek to Eldon and Doris (Rogers) Harris. He grew up on St. Mary's Lake and was a 1947 graduate of Pennfield High School. Glen was employed at American Fire Apparatus Company 1948-54. He retired from Clark Equipment Company in 1984, after 30 years. He also served as a Battle Creek Township Policeman 1960-63.

He married Ann Berge and they had two children together. That marriage ended in divorce. He then married Donna (Post) Hunt, who had four children. Glen and Donna wintered for 30 years in Apache Junction, AZ. Glen was the president of the BMW Club and the Northside Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, repairing things, building structures and racing sprint cars and go-karts. He even owned a hobby shop with competitive racing.

Glen is survived by his wife, Donna; five children, Brenda (Jeffrey) Sopchak, Glen (Diane) Harris, Debby (Ronald) Abbey, Rick (Sally) Hunt, Conny (Will) Banks and Brenda Dolecki; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Mark and Dean Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tim Hunt, and Ann Harris.

Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service to celebrate Glen's life will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
