Glenn E. Cutler, age 83, of Augusta died Sunday morning, April 7, 2013 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Plainwell, Michigan on May 31, 1929, the son of Glenn M. and Fern Josephine (Norris) Cutler and graduated from Augusta High School. Glenn faithfully served as a Sgt. in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired from General Motors in 1992 after more than 27 years.
Glenn married Norma L. Gordon on February 25, 1951; she sadly preceded him in death on May 15, 2000. He is survived by his children, Mike Cutler of Parchment, Phil (Mary Alice) Cutler of Portage, Teresa (Richard) McKendrick of Battle Creek, Randy (Kris) Cutler of Plainwell, Tim Cutler of Augusta, and Jana (Roger) Wedig of Augusta; his special friend, Barb Davis of Augusta; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria (Carl) Osterling of Galesburg, and 2 brothers, John (Marlene) Cutler of Plainwell, and Bill (Bev) Cutler of Battle Creek. Glenn was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Cutler.
A memorial visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Augusta Chapel 307 N. Webster St., Augusta, MI 49012. A memorial service to celebrate Glenn's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G. Avenue, Kalamazoo. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
