Glennice J. (Geib) "Tootie" Hock (known as "Nana" to her family), 85, of Battle Creek, died at Mercy Health St. Mary's in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday, April 30, 2016.
She was born February 5, 1931 in Parchment, Michigan to Sam and Mae (Larabee) Geib. Glennice, grew up in Cloverdale, attended a one room schoolhouse and graduated from Delton High School. She owned and operated X-Terminators from 1988 to 2014. Prior to that she was employed as a beautician for Joe Ferrari and managed his Hastings store. She also worked for White House Ice Cream.
Glennice married James Richard Hock on June 4, 1949 at St. Augustine's in Kalamazoo. Sadly she was preceded in death by her husband, James on February 14, 2004; her grandson, James B. Hock on October 5, 2002; her parents; and two sisters, Helen Martin and Ruth Reed Hofacker. Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Don) Carstens of Battle Creek; two sons, James (Debra) Hock of Battle Creek, Timothy (Nancy) Hock of Lowell; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services will be officiated by Rev. James L. Sparks 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Committal and interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
