Glenwood C. "Skip" Jessup, III, 68, of Battle Creek died at Regency at Whitmore Lake, Michigan on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.
Glen was born October 14, 1947 in Battle Creek to Glenwood C. and Margaret (Brown) Jessup, Jr. Skip was raised in the Battle Creek area and was a 1965 graduate of Pennfield High School. Glen served with the U.S. Army in the DMZ during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a lineman with the Grand Trunk Western Railroad for 18 years until 1994.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lorre Parker; three daughters, Heather (Jan) White, Jr. and Melissa (Scott) Stuck all of Battle Creek, Ashley Jessup of Columbus, OH; a son, Andrew; three grandchildren; and a sister, Starla Thompson of Battle Creek. Skip was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Glenwood and Cora (Poole) Jessup. Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Claud and Muriel (wright) Brown.
Skip was a founding member of the band, "The Edge." He was an accomplished musician able to play numerous instruments. He was noted for his expertise, playing the mouth harp (harmonica).
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help defray expenses to inter him honorably at Fort Custer (Please contact Farley's for further information.).
