Gordon Lowell Bennett of Battle Creek, MI


Gordon, age 83, died Thursday afternoon, April 14, 2016 at the Stonebridge Adult Foster Care Home of Bellevue, MI.

Gordon, the son of Clark and Elizabeth (Waterbury) Bennett, was born in Frederic, WI on March 20, 1933; was a graduate of Andrews University and came to this area from Berrien Springs, MI in 1976. He retired in 1996 after 18 years of faithful service in Packaging/Shipping for the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center of Battle Creek. Gordon was an active member of the Battle Creek Seventh Day Adventist Tabernacle and its Historical Society.

Gordon is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Shimek of Eureka, KS; his brother, Clifford Bennett of FL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Carolyn Jones and Genevieve Waalkins and two brothers, James and Clark Bennett.

The Memorial Service to celebrate Gordon's life will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 3:00 p.m. at the Battle Creek Seventh Day Adventist Tabernacle, 248. W. Michigan Avenue, 49037 with Pastor Bayani Pastrana, officiating. Final interment will be held in South Wayne Cemetery, Wayne Township of Cass County, MI at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gordon's honor may be directed to the Worthy Student Fund of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek is assisting Gordon's family with his arrangements.
