Grant L. Childs, 38, of Fort Myers, FL., died unexpectedly August 7, 2015. Grant was born May 29, 1977 in Battle Creek, the son of James "Jim" and Karyl (Kellogg) Childs. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University. He worked at Preferred Materials in the asphalt division as a Senior Account Manager. Grant married the former Noelle Waugh on June 24, 2006. They enjoyed 9 years of marriage.

Ever since he was a small boy, Grant loved to be in the outdoors. He enjoyed playing sports, hunting and fishing. This love carried into his adult years, when he would frequently visit the Upper Peninsula with his close friends. He was a big MSU sports fan, but most of all, Grant enjoyed spending time with his family.

Grant is survived by his wife, Noelle and their three children, Austin, Avery and Aiden; his parents, James and Karyl Childs; a brother, Joshua (Stacy) Childs; his mother-in-law, Colette Waugh; a brother-in-law, William Waugh; his aunts and uncles, Jack (Pam) Childs, Letah (Cliff) Samuelson, Karl (Alison) Childs, Ted (Carmen) Kellogg, Tim (Lori) Kellogg, Jan (Kyle) Vick and Gary (Sue) Marchionini; 16 cousins and seven nieces and nephews.

Grant was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service to celebrate Grant's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 16 E. Van Buren Street, Battle Creek, Michigan officiated by Fr. Brian Coleman. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Grant Child's Family Fund at the Gateway Gives Foundation, 9834 Weather Stone Place, Fort Myers, FL 33913 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
