Greta Lou (Trumbull) Berry Nesseth

April 11, 1933 — November 9, 2022

Greta Lou (Trumbull) Berry Nesseth, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 9, 2022. She was a resident of Battle Creek, currently residing at Northpointe Woods Independent Living.

Greta was born April 11, 1933, in Battle Creek to Truman "Arch" and Hazel (Williams) Trumbull. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1951. She was employed by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and was a member of their 25-year Club. Greta was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, Battle Creek, where she joyfully served her Savior, Jesus Christ, for many years as a Sunday School teacher of 5 & 6th grade girls. She also served on the Global Missions Team and the Prayer Committee.

She married her beloved high school sweetheart, Ronald Lee Berry, on July 11, 1954. They were blessed with five children, Debbi (Ralph) Woodstock of Otsego, Doug (Gina) Berry of Indianapolis, IN, Brian (Ginnie) Berry of Newark, OH, David (Kari) Berry of Battle Creek and Steven (Christin) Berry of Battle Creek. Her grandchildren are Sarah (Brent) Pickering of Newark, OH, Dustin Berry of Newark, OH, Jordan (Brooke) Woodstock of Cadillac, MI, Justin (Lauren Crock) Woodstock of Otsego, Tate Woodstock of Otsego and Seth, Shawn, Nathan and Landen Berry all of Battle Creek. In addition, two brothers, Don (Carol) Trumbull of Grand Haven and Richard (Elizabeth) Trumbull of Battle Creek her loving sister-in-law, Gwen Alred residing in Middleburg, VA.

In 1993, Greta entered into a wonderful second marriage to Aubrey D. Nesseth and embraced a second family. Her Nesseth children are Tim (Beth) Nesseth of Hudsonville, MI, Karen (Tom) Kawabe of Grand Rapids, Brent (Virginia) Nesseth of Battle Creek and Greg Nesseth of David's House Ministries in Wyoming, MI, as well as grandchildren, Laurie (Matthew) Tolsma of Jenison, MI, Andrea (Lansen) Perron of Jenison, MI, Benjamin (Mariah) Nesseth of Grandville, MI and Kristin (Garritt) Joustra of Grand Rapids, Austin (Fatima) Nesseth of Ann Arbor, Holly (Carl) Nelson of Groveland, FL, Erica (Matt Inman) Nesseth Angelo of Kalamazoo and Katie (Achilles Adams) Kawabe of Texas; and 21 great-grandchildren. Her favorite thing in life was spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ron and Aubrey; her parents and a brother-in-law, David N. Berry.

Friends will be received 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church where Greta's funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022. A graveside service and interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1625 Capital Avenue N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017. Arrangements are by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
