Gwen R. Pook

Gwendolyn R. "Gwen" Pook, 96, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, September 22, 2022 at the Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, surrounded by her family. Gwen was born September 5, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Herbert and Jane (Vollman) Jahnke. Gwen got her L.P.N. and worked as a pediatric nurse for many years in the local area. She loved to garden, bird watch and was actively involved in the Gull Lake United Methodist Church for many years when she was younger.

Gwen is survived by her four children, Carolyn (John Adams) Harden, Donald (Shelly) Spachman, Jeffrey (Jeannette) Spachman and Susan (Jeff) Marcus, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28th at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel where services to celebrate Gwen's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 29th. Interment will follow 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 30th at the Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Gull Lake United Methodist Church.
