Harold W. "Flip" Flanders, Jr., 82, of Battle Creek died at home with his family at his side on Friday, March 8, 2013.
He was born January 6, 1931 in Ceresco, MI to Harold W. and Alice L. (Neicius) Flanders, Sr. Flip was a 1949 graduate of Lakeview High School and served with the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a clerk with the former Conrail Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1992.
Harold married Barbara Fulkerson Seaman April 23, 1977 in Battle Creek. Surviving are his wife, Barbara; sons, Rick (Trish) Flanders of Mesa, AZ, David (Bev) Flanders of East Leroy; daughters, Sharon (Bill) Brace of Watkinsville, GA, Lynda (Gene) Anderson of Battle Creek, Sandy (Bill) Wise of Bellevue; stepson, Gregory McMillon of Battle Creek; stepdaughter, Cheryl Seaman of Battle Creek; brother, James (Norma) Flanders of Leesburg, FL; half-sister, Janet Ann Flanders; Battle Creek; 21 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teri Anderson and a sister Wanda Flanders.
Flip was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed raising and riding horses, snowmobiling, fishing and anything to do with Cowboy & Indian movies.
