Hazel A. (Dillard) Belcher McFadden, 54, of Battle Creek passed peacefully at her home with her best friend at her side and in the loving care of Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Hazel was born July 23, 1963 in Battle Creek the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Jane (Howard) Dillard. Hazel was employed as an administrative professional for several companies. Prior to her illness, she worked as a Foreign Trade Coordinator for the Kellogg Company.
Hazel was married to Floyd Belcher and Scott McFadden. Surviving are her first husband and lifelong friend, Floyd Belcher, III; two sons, Tony (Christa) Belcher of Tacoma, WA, Kris (Crystal) McFadden of Battle Creek; six grandsons, Tanner and Carter Belcher and Aidan, Connor, Liam and Kellan McFadden; a sister, Debbie (James) Rowden of Battle Creek; two nieces, Jessica and Tanya Rowden; and a nephew, Tommy Joe Wright, along with many friends and family. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tommy Joe Dillard.
Hazel was an avid gardener and a member of the Marshall Garden Club. She kept beautiful gardens, her home was spotless and she was an excellent cook. Hazel loved spending time with her grandchildren and listening to music. She was the light for so many. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a true friend, a determined woman, and a wonderful person. But most of all, she will be remembered as the most beautiful flower in our garden of life.
Friends will be received 5:00 â 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
