Helen M. (Campbell) Beecher, 88, of Battle Creek, passed on Thursday morning, December 17, 2020.
Helen was born on September 15, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Glenn and Gertrude Campbell. She graduated from Jones Commercial High School. She later worked in the business office of Leila Hospital.
Helen was an avid reader and liked to knit and crochet. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She loved spending time at the St. Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt, MI.
On September 8, 1951, Helen was united in marriage to Robert C. "Bob" Beecher. He sadly preceded her in death on February 6, 2018. She was also preceded by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, and her grandson, Robert Beecher.
Helen is survived by her eight children, Robert (Wol Kyun) Beecher, Catherine (Paul) Higgins, Terese (Ted) Koch, Mary Ford, Timothy (Lynette) Beecher, Patricia (William) Vaughan, Valerie Samuels and Michael Beecher; her sister, Jean Jensen; twenty four grandchildren; and thirty one great-grandchildren.
Helen's family will greet friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Battle Creek, where the Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 23, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 92 N. Capital Ave., with Father James E. Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park cemetery in Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen's honor may be made to St. Francis Retreat Center.
