Helen Marie Bilson

Helen Marie Bilson, 93, a lifelong resident of Battle Creek, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.

Helen was born in Battle Creek on January 31, 1924, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Ozanich) Jereck. Helen's life was founded in St. Philip Roman Catholic Church. Not only was she a 12-year student and a 1942 graduate of St. Philip High School, she was also baptized at the church, married at the church, was a lifelong parishioner, and attended numerous church functions. Helen worked in the payroll department at Eaton Corporation, retiring in 1986 after 43 years
.
Helen was united in marriage on July 27, 1946 to Luther L. Bilson. Sadly, he preceded her in death on April 3, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her niece, Kathleen Caulley, two sisters, Anna Sartor and Tillie Jereck, and brother-in-law, Louis Sartor. Surviving are a brother, John M. (Judith) Jereck of Augusta, a very beloved great-niece, Angela Caulley, and many, many nieces & nephews.

Helen enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing golf, dining out, and, most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a
Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Charles Fischer at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be next to her husband at Memorial Park Cemetery.
