Helen Louise Dean

Helen Louise Dean, a lifelong Battle Creek resident, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Helen was born October 24, 1950 the daughter of James William "Bill" and Mae Belle (Angell) Jenkins. She received her G.E.D. from Lakeview High School. Helen was employed for 11 years at the Federal Center in Battle Creek until she was disabled and retired due to health complications.

Helen was formerly married to William Foster. Surviving are her special friend, Cathy Novelli; daughter, Sonya (Keith) Ray of Paw Paw, MI; granddaughter, Ashley Volz; two great-grandsons, Liam and Rowan Volz; a sister, Sally Jenkins of Battle Creek; a brother, Danny Jenkins of Battle Creek and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Donna Rose and four brothers, Don, Lyle, Jerold and Jesse.

Helen is a member of East Leroy Community Church, where her sister-in-law, Kathy Jenkins, is the pastor. She enjoys playing pool and formerly played softball and enjoyed bowling. She also enjoyed fishing and camping.

Per Helen's wishes, her cremated remains will be scattered by her family in places loved by Helen. A memorial service will be held on October 29, 2022 at East Leroy Community Church starting at 11:00 a.m.
