Helen L. Hart, 92, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, April 20, 2014. Helen was born October 25, 1921 in Battle Creek to Carl and Helen (Harris) Baccaro. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1939 and worked for many years at Sears Roebuck Credit Central. Helen married Paul Jones, who preceded her in death. She then married George Hart in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Helen was a member at Burnham Brook and the Westlake Presbyterian Church and its Naomi Ruth Circle. Starting in 1987, she volunteered at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Care Residence. Among her many hobbies, spending time with her children and grandchildren were her favorite. She said, "My children are the love of my life and my grandchildren are the light of my life."
Helen is survived by her daughter, Carol S. (Larry) Sisco of Bellevue; her three sons, Michael P. (Fe) Jones of Garden City, Brian K. Hart of Battle Creek and David G. (Kathleen) Hart of Grandville; 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Kathy, Laura, Lisa, Joseph, Brandon, Ashleigh, Patrick, Kendall and Kyle; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Samuel, Jessica and Grace.
Funeral services to celebrate Helen's life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jim Codde. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Lifespan Hospice or the Westlake Presbyterian Church.
