Helen J. "Tootie" Kauffman

Helen J. "Tootie" Kauffman, 79, of Pennfield Township, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Boschway Adult Foster Care with her loving family by her side. She was born June 24, 1936 in Battle Creek the daughter of August P. and Julia E (Poyer) Kauffman who preceded her in death in 2005 and her father in 1945; and a brother, Joseph E. Kauffman in 1994.

Helen was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and worked for 40 years at the former Michigan National Bank until retiring in 1994 as an Assistant Vice President and manager of the main office.

Helen enjoyed golfing, bowling and being with her family and beloved pets, Gracie and Bridgette. She was the winner of multiple golf championships at Marywood Country Club. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving is a nephew, Paul J. (Anne) Kauffman; nieces, Linda J. (Kauffman) Mills, Laurie J. Kauffman all of Battle Creek, Lisa G. (Michael) Beise of Wakefield, MI; many aunts , nephews and nieces; and a very special aunt Dorothy Poyer, great nephews & nieces Anthony J. Mills, Aaron J. Kauffman, Ashley M. Kauffman, Nichole M Mills, and Alex J. Kauffman.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, June 16 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave., Battle Creek, MI. with Pastor James S. Codde, Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue.

A visitation will be for the family and friends at the funeral home from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, June 15th and an hour before service on Thursday, June 16th.
