Helen Mae (Forbush) Wagner of Englewood, FL and Gull Lake, MI

Helen, age 86, died on Friday evening, January 18, 2019 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo following a brief illness and with her loving family at her side.

Helen, the daughterof Belden and Octava (McGowan) Forbush, was born on March 28, 1932 in Stevens Point, WI and was a 1950 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She always took care of her family, making sure they had what they needed. She had lots of fun entertaining friends and traveling the world with her husband. She enjoyed her time at Gull Lake, MI and Englewood, FL. She was a master bridge and duplicate player and loved a good game of Gin Rummy with her grandkids. Helen loved her grandkids and made sure to always send cards and tokens of her love. She loved cooking and having the family over to eat her delicious meals. Helen will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Helen was united in marriage to Robert Gordon "Bob" Wagner in Angola, IN on January 24, 1956 and he sadly preceded her in death on August 26, 2018 after 62 years of marriage. Surviving are two daughters, Marriann W. Marshall of Englewood, FL and Suann Good of Parchment, MI; a step-daughter, Susan Widger of Lawton, MI; six precious grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and her half-sister, Virginia Moore. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen; a step-son, James and her son-in-law, John Marshall.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Helen's life will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Yorkville Community Church, 11523 East D Avenue, Richland, MI 49083 with the Rev. Shan Martin, Pastor Emeritus, officiating. Helen's family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service time in the Church Social Hall. Interment will follow next to her beloved husband in Yorkville Cemetery, Ross Township. Family and friends will continue Helen's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a light luncheon at the Gull Lake Country Club immediately following the committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen's honor may be directed to the Church (see address above); the Red Barn Cat Clinic, 6921 North 37th Street, Augusta, MI 49012 or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Helen's family.
