Helen Kay (Winters) Mcgee

Helen Kay (Winters) McGee, 75, of Galesburg, Michigan died October 21, 2021.

Helen was born January 9, 1946 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (DePriester) Winters. She grew up in Hickory Corners and graduated from W K Kellogg Consolidated High School. Helen earned her Dental Assistant Degree in Elkhart, Indiana. She worked briefly as a dental assistant. She was a stay-at-home Mom due to her son's medical condition and raising their two beautiful loving daughters, Kristen and Kara. Later in life, Helen was also employed at Galesburg Meat Company for 20+ years.

Helen Kay Winters was united in marriage to Richard Duane McGee on December 11, 1965 at Gull Lake Bible Church. Surviving are Dick, her husband of 55+ years, two daughters, Kristen (Wayne) Hinton of Parchment, Kara (Ron) Srackangast of Portage; and five grandchildren, Kendyl and Keeley Hinton, Timothy, Hannah and Joseph Srackangast. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and Helen and Dick's son, Robert Craig "Robbie" McGee on January 1, 2012.

Helen loved going to the Cheff Center and leading the horse that Robbie, her son was riding. She enjoyed going to the basketball games that her two granddaughters, Kendyl and Keeley played in. She enjoyed having the grandchildren over to swim in their pool in Augusta. She also enjoyed going to soccer games where all of their five grandchildren, Kendyl, Keeley, Timothy, Hannah and Joseph, were playing in. Helen enjoyed playing on the computer and was an avid fan of Facebook, where she would catch up on things going on in the world around her. Finally they enjoyed 55 years of marriage together.

Helen's family will gather at Hickory Corners Cemetery, where her cremated remains will be interred.
