Herbert A. Price, 85, of Battle Creek, went home to be with his loving wife, Jean on June 2, 2022. Herbert was born February 3, 1937 in Battle Creek to Dewitt and Bernice (Carr) Price. He worked as a Millwright at Ralston Foods for 33 years, before retiring in 1993.
Herbert enjoyed having breakfast at Mr. Don's and having a Sunday afternoon coffee with Zelda Dawn the cat at Penny and Kris' home. He was diligent in keeping up with his yard and flower beds, especially when he was younger. He always drove a pickup truck and was never afraid to "chat it up" with the ladies. Every year on Memorial Day weekend he would take a trip Up North with his Ralston buddies "to fish".
Herbert is survived by his daughter, Penny (Kris) Jacobs; a granddaughter, Jenna (Dylan Reminder) Price; a brother, Joel Price; a sister-in-law, Joan Rapp and a daughter-in-law, Sharon A. Price. His wife, Jean, sadly preceded him in death just three short weeks prior. He was also preceded in death by a son, Trent Allen Price, two brothers, Don and Bob Price and a sister, Ihla Segur.
Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a funeral service to celebrate Herbert's life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
