Hilda R. Jones

Hilda R. Jones, 92, of Battle Creek, died February 16, 2024.  Born on April 11, 1931 in Yankee Springs, MI, the daughter of Orin J. and M. Alice (Pierce).   She retired from Comerica Bank in April of 1992 after 30+ years, mostly in human resources.  She started with Security National Bank and also worked 5 ½ years at Macy’s Department Store.  She also worked for 8 years at the Eaton Corporation and 4 years at B.C. Treasurers Office.

Hilda was united marriage in to Robert Jones on December 11, 1948.   They were married for 71 years.  

Hilda is survived by two daughters, Gale Lee Jones of Los Angeles, CA and Debra A. Horrocks of Oak Ridge, TN; a granddaughter, Melissa A. (Steven) Little of Knoxville, TN; a special great-granddaughter, Katie Ann (Matt) Campbell of Knoxville, TN; a sister-in-law, Caroline Roberts; a brother-in-law, Harold Keena; many special nieces and nephews and very special friends, Donald and Dawn Mason.  

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jones in 2019; her parents; sisters, Delphine (Dave) Morales and Dorothy Keena; special twin brother, Harold Roberts and her son-in-law, Thomas T. Horrocks.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service to celebrate Hilda’s life will be at a later date at Wilcox Cemetery in Nashville, MI.   Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.   Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.  Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
