Inci Fout, age 75, resident of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away at the University of Michigan Health System following a long and brave fight against cancer. She passed into the Lord's loving care surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 15, 1947, in Limassol, Cyprus. After attending school in Istanbul, Turkey, she moved to Wurzburg, Germany where she became employed by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as an official translator in four languages: English, Turkish, Greek, and German working for the U.S. Armed Forces. While working for NATO, she met the love of her life, Donald Gene Fout who was with the U.S. Army and with whom she had two sons: Ali and Arkin Fout. While living in Chicago, Illinois, Inci and Donald decided to take ballroom dancing classes and after completing the basic, intermediate, and advanced classes, they competed professionally in ballroom dancing. During the 1980s, Inci and her family moved to Istanbul, Turkey where she became the General Manager of a large British transportation company and where she developed a reputation as a fierce businesswoman that commanded respect wherever she went. Inci was a very loving and protective mother and grandmother.
Inci also loved spending time at Barnes & Noble in Battle Creek with her grandson Brayden, enjoying her quiche and matcha green tea socializing with her friends and always up for making new ones.
Inci is survived by her sons Ali Fout (wife Nicole) of Battle Creek; Arkin Fout (wife Lisa) of Ypsilanti; grandsons Brayden Fout of Battle Creek and Thomas Fout of Midland; brother Hassan Karagozlu (wife Filiz) of Kyrenia, Cyprus; nieces Yeliz Karagozlu and Seniz Kalaycioglu of Kyrenia, Cyprus; aunts Sitkiye Coskuner and Ozel Hassan of London, U.K. She was preceded in death by her spouse Donald Fout; her parents Huriye Houlousi and Ali Karagozlu; her stepson Tony Fout; her uncles Ismail and Mehmet Hassan, and aunt Ijlal Hassan.
Friends will be received 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2022 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where a service to celebrate Inci's life will be officiated by Pastor Gale Kragt 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Inci's body will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI to join her husband, with whom she will be dancing in the sky.
