Irene R. Pauzer

Irene Ruth Pauzer, 80, of Battle Creek died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 7, 1934 in Battle Creek the daughter of Howard and Hazel Rohr Manley. Irene worked outside the home in child care, restaurants, office maintenance and factories, but mostly she was a stay at home mom.
Irene was united in marriage to Alfred W. Pauzer on September 15, 1950 in Battle Creek. They were married 50 years; he preceded her in death in 2001. Irene was also preceded in death by her two infant sons, Kirk and Ike; and son-in-law, Thomas Lee Mellen. Irene loved to crochet, to work in her garden and with her flowers. Irene served her family, took care of her husband and loved her grandson.
She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Pauzer of Battle Creek; a daughter, Linda Irene Mellen of Dowling; grandson, Tad Michael (Jaime B.) Mellen of Wixon and surrogate-daughter, Debbie K. Ball.
The family will receive family and friends from 4- 7:00 pm Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, where the funeral to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the funeral home with the Pastor Robert L.
