Iris Loraine (Mcwilliams) Mccleery

Iris Loraine (McWilliams) McCleery, age 94, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, May 12, 2018. She was born in Nashville, Michigan on September 25, 1923, the loving daughter of Howard P. and Effie Mae (Hanes) Jones. Iris enjoyed sewing, gardening, golfing with her friends, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Iris was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert L. McWilliams and Robert B. McCleery; her parents and her brother, Russell Jones. She is survived by three children, Dennis (Jenny) McWilliams of Richmond, Kentucky, Gerald McWilliams and Gail McWilliams, both of Battle Creek; a granddaughter, Laura McWilliams; three step-children, Maureen (Donald) Vire, David (Teresa) McCleery, Barbara (Mike) Roller; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 17th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Funeral services to celebrate Iris' life will follow at 12:00 noon at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Southern Care Hospice.
