Jacqueline Lee “Jackie” Jorgensen, 76, went to Heaven to be with her parents and the Lord on March 31, 2026.
Jackie was born July 26, 1949, in Traverse City, Michigan. She resided in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin until 1966, when she moved with her family to Battle Creek, Michigan and attended Battle Creek Public Schools and Goodwill Training.
The daughter of Douglas and Marjorie A. (Keelan) Jorgensen, Jackie was one of the original participants in the Goodwill Industries Work Affiliation program. She spent time working at Docsa Home and the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. Always willing to help out and do all she could to help others. Jackie wasn’t shy, she had loads of friends and she would tell you every one of their names, and usually their birthdays, as that meant a lot to Jackie to celebrate with others. Thanks to C.I.R. and Summit Pointe, she enjoyed many programs, from arts and crafts, and especially bowling. She proudly had her ball and shoes and was ready to go every week and didn’t miss many.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Marjorie. She is survived by her sister, Vicki (Tom) Black of Tampa, FL; her brother, Gary (Sherri) Jorgensen of Battle Creek; nephew, Doug (Joy) Peterson and great niece, Alexandria of Tampa, FL; nephew, Ritchie (Corey) Peterson and great nieces, Addison, Jessica and Ashley of Battle Creek; nephew, Tyler (Victoria) Jorgensen and great nieces Lorelei and Lennox of Battle Creek; and niece, Tori (Dominick) Packham and two great nephews, Vincent and Carter of Warsaw, IN.
A graveside service to celebrate Jackie’s life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, where her earthly remains will be committed to the earth next to her mom and dad.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Inclusive Recreation, 331 W. Jackson St., Battle Creek, MI 49037.
Arrangements are by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
