James A. "Jim" Bronkhorst, age 69, of Battle Creek passed away Saturday morning, July 11, 2020 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence, Battle Creek. He was born in Plainwell, Michigan on September 28, 1950, the son of Elmer J. and Katherine (Marsman) Bronkhorst. Jim retired from the Plumbers & Pipefitters UA Local 333 after more than 40 years in the trade. He also worked at Walters Plumbing and Central Piping. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends along with fishing, camping, living in Florida, making model cars & airplanes, and in his younger years, racing at Galesburg Speedway.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Carol Bronkhorst and Nancy (Jeff) Boddy, both of Battle Creek; his grandchildren, Rachael Gillette, Alex Boddy, and Josh Boddy; his brother, Ray (Pearl) Bronkhorst; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Bronkhorst; and his sister, Mary Burbank.
The family will receive friends 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 16th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
