James Joseph "Jim" Clancy of Richland, MI
Jim, age 55, passed away Thursday evening October 20, 2016 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI with his loving family at his side.
Jim, the son of Harry K. and Patricia A. (Coghlan) Clancy, was born in Battle Creek, MI on December 29, 1960 and was a lifetime resident of the area. Jim graduated from Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo as well as the Michigan School for the Deaf. Jim had an outgoing and gregarious personality. Rarely was he without a smile on his face. He made friends easily, was a great story teller and was well liked by all who knew him. Jim had many close friends in the local deaf community and was known there for his positive attitude and his sense of humor. Jim was quite the 'Jokester'.
Jim had many passions in life. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and he loved football, especially watching his Notre Dame Fighting Irish play. Jim's greatest passion was without a doubt his commitment to the people in his life, his friends and his family. Jim was particularly dedicated to his mother. He spent countless hours with her, loved her dearly and was always concerned about her wellbeing. Jim raised his daughter Donna as a single father and there has never been a dad more committed to a child and certainly never a dad with more pride. Their relationship has been very special!
Surviving is his daughter, Donna Lynn Clancy of Battle Creek, and his mother, Patricia Clancy of Augusta, MI. His siblings are Tim and Stacey Clancy of Richland, Dennis and Kellee Clancy of Galesburg, MI, Mike and Sheila Clancy of Sturgis, MI, Mary and Mike Otto of Charlotte, MI, Kate and John Gould of Kalamazoo, Bill and Diane Clancy of Hickory Corners, Chuck and Linda Clancy of Richland and Tom and Kim Clancy of Augusta.
