James Edward Scroggins

James E. Scroggins, 81, of Battle Creek, died September 21, 2023.  James was born July 9, 1942 in Decatur, TN to Joseph and Lucy (Pelfrey) Scroggins.  He loved watching professional wrestling and Gunsmoke. 

James is survived by his “Better Half” of 26 years, Melissa Strohm; children, Deborah, Johnny, Rick, Billy, Emily, Rebecca, Jamey, Melinda, Jeremy, Ray and Tim; a special grandson, Michael “Gizzy Boy” Packer; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Sharon White. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Everett and Ollian and a son, Buddy.
