Jamie Blair

April 23, 1973 — March 15, 2024

Richland

Jamie Blair, 50 of Richland, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Jamie was born in Monroe, Michigan on April 23, 1973.  When he was a child, he could be found trying to keep up with his big brothers, playing babies and dress up with his older sister, enjoying time on the farm riding the family horses bareback and tending to his cows, Batman and Robin.  When he was in later elementary school his mother moved the family to Tennessee for a few years. When Jamie was 10 years old, his mom married Jack Moss and he gained two more sisters and another brother. They moved back to Reading, MI and then settled in Hudson, MI.  He often spoke about helping his Uncle Sam bale hay on his farm, playing basketball, and telling stories about his friends and their adventures. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1991. After graduation he tried his hand at different lines of work before finding his calling in collections where he continued to work to this day at PNC Bank as a Collections Supervisor.  In 2022, Jamie found he had a big brother that he never knew he had and they welcomed each other with open arms.  Jamie never encountered someone he could not have a conversation with and was always able to get a laugh with his humor and charming personality. Through all the chapters of his life, he had made many friends that he loved dearly.

In 2006, Jamie met Christie and they quickly became inseparable.  They married in October of 2008 in Battle Creek and settled in Richland, MI.  After five years of wedded bliss, God blessed them with a son, Cole, in 2013 and a daughter, Orrianna, in 2016.  His family was the center of his world and he was never shy to tell you how proud he was of them.  He loved playing basketball in the driveway with his kids, helping coach his sons football team, and being his daughter’s biggest cheerleader in basketball and gymnastics.  He loved to throw the football around, talk about music and history with ‘His Boy’. He would always take time to stop to  play babydolls or have his hair done complete with bows and barrettes with ‘His Best Girl’. He loved his family fiercely and would tell them every day just how special they were to him.

Jamie had many hobbies to keep him busy.  From projects around the house, mowing his 5 acre lawn, riding bikes, couch naps, front porch sitting (with his Honey), snuggling his dogs and having cozy nights by a bonfire with his people. He always welcomed a friend to his table to feed and would lend a ear and give advice when needed. He would always look for ways to help others when he could and he taught this selfless love to his children.  He will be missed beyond measure by all that knew him.

Jamie is survived by his wife, Christie (Croften), son Cole, daughter Orrianna of Richland, MI; Sister Patti (Mike) Hilton, brothers Joseph Blair and Mark Jeffery Blair; sister Linda (Bill) LaPointe, brother Tim (Latrice) Anderson; nephews Travis Moss, Jacob Anderson, Nicholas Valentine, nieces Jennifer (Richard) Brown and Natalie Valentine; In-laws Diane Croften and Sarah (Matt) Valentine.

Jamie was preceded in death by Parents Jack and Orrie (Bowman) Moss, Sister Laura Moss, Brother Gary Moss, Niece Laticia Hilton, Nephew Michael Hilton and Father In-law Neil ’Poppie’ Croften.
