Janet "Jane" Elizabeth Linn

Janet "Jane" Elizabeth Linn, age 85 of Tawas City, Michigan formerly of Ft. Myers, Florida and Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Medilodge of Tawas City. Jane was born in Battle Creek on January 13, 1938 to the late Dale and Donna (Payne) Owen. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan and held a Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University. She taught at Belleville High School (VanBuren Public Schools System) becoming the head of the Commercial Department before retiring after 30 years of service. 

Jane will forever be remembered for her beautiful and contagious smile and funny sense of humor! She carried a bright positive outlook on life and inspired others to find the good in this world. Jane was an avid reader, enjoying a good book in her spare time. She and her husband, Roger, were frequent ocean-line cruisers and enjoyed over 12 different cruises over the many years. Jane will always be cherished and loved by everyone who knew her. 

Jane is survived by her husband and best friend, Roger Linn, to whom she married on August 17, 1963 in Battle Creek. Together they celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage! Besides Roger, Jane is also survived by her sister, Dale Owen; sister-in-law, Carolyn Owen; a niece, Barbara (Scott) Ross; and a nephew, Donald (Melissa) Owen. Jane was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Thomas Owen and David P. Owen; a niece, Beth Younglove, and a nephew, David C. Owen. 

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, Battle Creek.
