Janis K. Cox

Janis K. Cox, 70, of Battle Creek, died August 12, 2018. Janis was born September 14, 1947 in Battle Creek to Melvin and Mildren (McIntyre) Babcock. She loved watching movies and the Young and the Restless. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the Beatles, Elvis and Janis Joplin. But most of all, Janis loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janis is survived by her five children, Laura Rathbun of Battle Creek, John Elston of Battle Creek, Lisa Young of Union City, Richard Elston of Tampa, FL and Steven (Kriss) Cox of Wyoming, MI.; a sister, Glenda Jones of Battle Creek; her grandchildren, Heather (Mark) McNees, Travis Smith (Sasha Love), Ashley Rathbun (Bill Smith) Lindsey (Matt) Wabindato, Taylor Cox, Jaylen Cox, Logan Cox and Carter Young; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1625 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek.
